WHOA NELLIE!! what in the ``%``** is going on near Dallas, Texas?!
[exTypical background radiation levels for most of the USA are in the 5 to 28 uR/hr range. Readings can be higher for brief periods of time due to normal variations in radiation levels.
Dallas, Texas at 312 Ur/ hr!... And until I find out more, this is where I suspect it's comming from:
Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant
Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant operates twin reactors in Glen Rose, about 50 miles southwest of Forth Worth
Is there a Nuclear disaster going down in Texas?!
I found this:
Radioactive Water Leak Forces Nuclear Power Plant Shut Down (Sept 26 2010)
WHY am I not surprised?? ANOTHER "terror" plot and ANOTHER nuclear **** up.
All this is saying is "HEY, DON'T LOOK AT THE FACT THAT WE'RE GONNA DEFAULT AND YOU'RE GONNA FEEL THE ASS END OF IT. JUST PANIC OVER SOMETHING ELSE WE'VE MANUFACTURED TO DISTRACT YOU."
April 2011 article on Evac planning:
A look at evacuation plans for Comanche Peak nuclear power plant
At Comanche Peak, operated by Luminant, the two units are designed for 300-mph winds, which an F5 tornado could bring, company spokesman Allan Koenig said. That's the highest rating on the damage scale, equal to the worst that have struck in Texas, records show.
Then there is the 10-mile Plume Exposure Pathway Emergency Planning Zone. The risk there, lasting hours to days, is exposure to gamma radiation from a plume and inhalation exposure from passing radioactive particles. People there can expect to be evacuated, too.
The Ingestion Exposure Pathway Emergency Planning Zone is 10 to 50 miles from the plant. The danger, lasting hours to months, is ingesting contaminated water or foods such as milk or fresh vegetables.
The northeast edge of that zone includes west Fort Worth and some of Grand Prairie and Arlington, Luminant officials told me. Comanche Peak is near Glen Rose, about 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth.
NOTHING on any MSM sites yet!
I went digging through this weeks event notification reports, and I found one for Comanche Peak around 6 days ago.
NRC.gov link
I am not saying this is the cause of it, but this is the only local event from this week in the list. If something really bad was going on they are not revealing much about it.
Facility: COMANCHE PEAK
Event Number: 47086
VULNERABILITY FROM A POTENTIAL CONTROL ROOM FIRE ON "A" SAFEGUARDS BUS
"A potential scenario has been identified that has not been analyzed in the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant Fire Safe Shutdown Analysis (FSSA). This situation is described below for Unit 1, but also applies to Unit 2. Listed below is the configuration for 1EA1. The basic configuration is typical for 1EA2, 2EA1 and 2EA2 as well (ref. E1-0001)
If I am reading this correctly it isn't even an actual event, it's the identification of a weakness in their wiring layout. You gotta check the entire notification report.
But I can't find anything else from the last 8 days anywhere near Dallas except for a few malfunctioning shutters which is pretty commonplace.
So the reading may not be coming from the power plant after all, it is supposedly in cold shut down mode at the moment as well.
Just found another source of disclosure for radiation threats in Texas for 2011...
Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant has a bushel load of radiation alerts posted for it, one in red! this alert website doesn't have anything posted for this event yet however.
That's pretty weird, but i'm a bit more scared of the 22 near me

**UPDATE**
Called the sheriffs office and the conversation went like this:
Me- Hi I'm inquiring about high radiation level readings at the Comanche Peak Power Plant on an online map.
Dispatch- Who are you with?
Me- I'm a civilian.
Dispatch- Ok, well sorry sir but we have no information at this time regarding the plant.
Me- So it's just showing innumerable amounts higher than normal and you have no information?
Dispatch- Sorry sir, call back in the morning.
Actually, I'll replace my previous suspicious story with this suspicious story from the same day (and the right plant this time):
Go easy on the A/C this afternoon
According to ERCOT up to 3,800 megawatts of power plant capacity is offline today due to unplanned maintenance issues. ERCOT isn’t allowed to disclose which units are down, but according to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s web site one of the two 1,200 megawatt units of the Comanche Peak nuclear power plant southwest of Fort Worth is offline for an unplanned maintenance issue.
Also about 500 megawatts from some Houston-area power plants were offline unexpectedly today, according to sources.
One megawatt is roughly enough electricity to power 500 average homes under normal conditions in Texas, according to ERCOT, or about 200 homes during hot weather. That means the downed plants could handle about 760,000 typical Texas homes.
Dun!

**UPDATE**
I spoke to a dispatcher at the EPA to report a POTENTIAL situation.
He said that this isn't the first call tonight regarding the area of Glen Rose, TX. Took my contact information and again, asked me what company/organization I was with. I told him I was a private citizen and he said that due to multiple reports, they will be treating this as a POTENTIAL situation, meaning a potential release of hazardous material.
**UPDATE**
5:05am EST
The current reading over Glen Rose is 318.
I placed another call to the Comanche Peak Nuclear Plant Emergency Info Line however that still got me nowhere.
So I placed an additional call to the Sheriffs Office:
I identified myself as a field investigator for the EPA following up on "multiple calls" regarding the Comanche Peak Nuke Plant. The lady was the same one who picked up my call earlier and she was happy to tell me all she knew - which turned out to be nothing at all.
I asked her if there was anything going on, and she told me that she had recieved a few phone calls between herself and her partner on duty. She also told me that the plant actually "checks in" with the sheriffs office at 4 hour intervals and that the last "check in" was at 2:30am central time, and everything was just fine.
She said that herself and her partner pulled up the online Geiger Counter to see what the complaints were about and did see the high reading, but again, can't confirm anything because the plant "checked in" at 2:30am all clear. She said the sheriffs office and the plant are in contact via phone, fax, and radio.
She sounded very genuine and it was very obvious that she believed I was with the EPA.
------------------------------------------------------------
I think we're dealing with a slight system malfunction here people. I think I went about as deep as one can go without driving out there with a personal Geiger Counter. My verdict is that there is nothing serious presently taking place. Will check back later today after 6:30am central time just to see if the new "check in" with the sheriffs office is also an all clear.
The Black Cat map system is a company server that interacts with their client's who've chosen to allow the Data from their RAD monitors to be mined by this system so as to add a third layer of security awareness in support of those that are deployed by NOAAH and the EPA. This is a privately administrated service.
I can bank my bottom dollar that the site revealing the hazardous levels of radiation IS the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, which makes them a Black Cat client who purchased one of Black Cats Ur monitors, and the feed that's reading those numbers is mounted on the concrete curvature of one of Comanche Peak's reactors, up on top near the reactor stack's vent.
That makes these numbers a more than reliably accurate source, reporting direct source data. Only an authenticated image or verified employee statement revealing otherwise can debunk this fact, so until then, there is no malfunction, and this NUCLEAR EMERGENCY, as the title of this topic ACCURATELY portrays this event as being is indeed real. YES, YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED.
She also told me that the plant actually "checks in" with the sheriffs office at 4 hour intervals and that the last "check in" was at 2:30am central time, and everything was just fine... She said that herself and her partner pulled up the online Geiger Counter to see what the complaints were about and did see the high reading, but again, can't confirm anything because the plant "checked in" at 2:30am all clear.
Just like Fukushima did. I guarantee you that the person who relayed the all clear was coerced to do so by the plant's safety director, under direct orders of the acting chair - SINCE THE PREVIOUS CHAIR GOT FIRED TWO DAYS AGO!
On top of that, the Barney Fifery continues, with a 'mission critical first responder' admitting to seeing the numbers, but taking the plant's word (who has a multi million dollar vested interest in continuing to give an all clear) at face value, INSTEAD OF REALIZING THAT THAT IS A REAL TIME FEED, SUPPLYING A REAL TIME LINK TO CONTINUOUSLY UPDATED INFORMATION FROM A FULLY FUNCTIONING BLACK CAT Ur MONITOR, AND SINCE THAT'S THE CASE WHAT YOUR SEEING IS A REACTOR CORE STRENGTH RELEASE OF HIGHLY TOXIC, RADIOACTIVE VENT PLUME CONTAINING PLUTONIUM, IODINE, CESSIUM, TRITIUM, POTASSIUM, RHODIUM, GOLD, URANIUM, AND/ OR OTHER REACTIVE TOXINS INTO OUR ENVIRONMENT...
A look at evacuation plans for Comanche Peak nuclear power plant
Since these numbers have been popping at a constant disaster level figure for well over 12 hours now (God only knows how long before I discovered it... if the job post on NW is indicative of the afore mentioned high profile job termination, likely the radiation from this event has been leaking for close to 50+ hours now) If you live near Dallas, say within a 50 mile radius, I SUGGEST THAT YOU COLLECT YOUR LOVED ONES NOW AND TAKE AN EXTENDED WEEKEND ~UP WIND~ FROM THAT AREA (or until you're confident the immediate threat has passed through TRUSTED, VERIFIABLE SOURCES)...
From 50 miles to 150 miles away, I suggest that you find a plotable weather forecast service online and determine the wind speeds and directions in your area for the next 5 days. If you discover the wind blowing in your direction from Dallas, I suggest Leaving Now (50+ hours is plenty of time for a substantial dosage to have already contaminated you, your kids, your food, and your water)
150 to 200 miles away, Be prepared to leave as soon as the wind from Dallas blows your way. Review the ATS survival forums for the best info in the world on how to deal with this. START BOTTLING WATER IN PLASTIC 5 GALLON BOTTLES AND WRAPPING YOUR FOOD IN HEAVY VISQUINE PLASTIC. Stay indoors as long as you can, seal all exits with tape except for one, which you will provide for egress. seal windows, vents, and chimney openings. gather everyone to a centrally located place in the house away from windows and doors for sleeping and eating. place your food and water stores there as well, under a heavy visquine enclosure.
Don't forget about your pets!
If you have livestock, put them in the barn, with as much food and water as you can. Cover the barn roof completely with nailed down visquine sheets, leaving visquine edges to fall over the overhang to allow contaminated water to fall to the ground. Seal all doors and windows against particulate infiltrations.
Above all else, DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO RAIN!!!! If storms start to develop, take cover immediately, and wear rubber boots (or securely wrap your foot ware in a heavy visquine wrap) and heavy latex gloves if you must walk in or touch watery surfaces. If you absolutely must be in the rain, full heavy rubber rain gear, a half face industrial respirator fitted with radiation cartridges (or at least particulate cartridges for a temporary respiratory filter - DONT FORGET TO SHAVE ~ALL~ OF YOUR FACIAL HAIR OFF MEN), and fitted plastic goggles is recommended.
BEFORE entering any habitations, remove your gear into a soapy tub to decontaminate it for future use via heavy horse hair brushes and heavy latex gloves. you do not want to contaminate those around you.
IF possible, someone should locate a hand held Ur meter and if they're professional enough to do so, take periodic readings and post your findings here on this thread for everyone else's benefit.

Nuclear "Disasters" enacted around the U.S.! By Who's Design?
OK... So how did THIS nuclear 'disaster' get missed?
Wildfire at ex-nuclear test area in NV continues - (July 8)
A wildfire at the government's former nuclear testing area in southern Nevada poses no threat of kicking up radiation, federal officials said Saturday.
National Nuclear Security Administration spokeswoman Kelly Snyder said the lightning-caused blaze was not burning near any site where 100 above-ground tests left radiation in the soil.
"We have all the locations mapped and know where the contaminated areas are and this fire is not burning near them," she told The Associated Press. "It's further than two miles from the nearest impacted soils."
Really?
This sounds like a repeat of the Los Alamos Labs fire...
With all the 'accidents', shut downs, and security breaches going on here in the U.S., WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON! Conspiracy Against Nuclear Power In USA?
Or something more sinister?
Could a foriegn terrorist entity be targeting radiated areas from our former nuclear programs for the creation of readily - made 'dirty nukes'? If so, lol, I guess I can see candyland security missing this loop hole!
Or does it get even more sinister?
Is our own government trying to weaken America via radiation sickness for their own Rex 84 move?
Let's try figuring this one out...
